The Beads that we have listed for sale are embroidery beads, some are loose some are on thread. They are all over eighty years old. They rare and from many countries around the world. They can be put on clothing if you know how to embroider, or they can be made into that hot sexy necklace, bracelet or whatever other jewelry item your don't have or need.
The beeds come from my grandparents who imigrated to this country many years ago. Grandma from Amalfi and Grandpa from Sicily.
My grandfather came to this country at fourteen years old. He was a stowaway on a ship. He was caught on the ship and made to work on the ship while he came to America.
He and my Grandmother tried many ways to make money. I don't know how they started but they were hired to design dresses with beads for designers in New York.
They worked at home eventually opening a shop in New Haven CT where they hired lady's who were proficient in fabric embroidery to embroider the fabric with beads. It is a lost art and most is done by machines these days.
